August 2010 :: National Space Centre has taken delivery of the first of the new antennae for the Elfordstown site, and engineering teams have started to construct and erect the platform and antenna. National Space Centre is undertaking this work on behalf of a commercial partner.
National Space Centre provides world class carrier grade teleport facilities from Elfordstown Earthstation, located near Midleton, Co Cork, Ireland.
Elfordstown is a strategically situated, purpose built, carrier grade teleport. Originally commissioned in the mid 1980's to carry transatlantic telephone traffic, National Space Centre took over operation of Elfordstown in 2010 and have invested substantially in upgrading existing equipment and installing new infrastructure.
National Space Centre undertakes space and communications related consultancy and Research and Development both for its own purposes and on a contract basis for third parties.
National Space Centre is an independent teleport operator, and can partner with any Government, large corporation, or multi-national institution.
