Duties will include:

  • Provision of technical support to gateway team to ensure contract delivery
  • Provision of IT Support for IP network, satellite gateway earth stations and RF network
  • Provision of in-house & 3rd party hardware & software support
  • Ongoing network surveillance, troubleshooting, resolving/restoring and break/fix activities
  • Working as part of Engineering team to support implementation and testing of new services during maintenance activities
  • Performance and documentation of Weekly, Monthly and Annual checks for all active systems
  • Routine software and storage back-ups including regular test back-up checks
  • Participation in day to day aspects of Gateway Operations a required
  • Escalation and emergency response participation in a 24 x 7 x 365 environment

Qualifications/Skills

Relevant third level or professional qualification an advantage. Experience and knowledge of no less than 2 of the following is required:

  • VM Ware
  • CISCO network systems
  • IT systems
  • Telecommunications Systems
  • Satellite Communications Systems

  • A flexible attitude is essential, with a can-do attitude across all NSC systems
  • Ability to work in a small team is essential
  • Good person to person communication skills required
  • Own transport required
  • Candidates should be aware this position includes participation in 24/7 on-call rota
