The National Space Centre rolled our the red carpet to welcome a glamorous array of guests to the a special screening of Stormtroopers, a fan film directed by Micheal Fitzgerald, at the NSC on Saturday night, 15 April 2023. Stormtroopers was filmed at various locations including the National Maritime College of Ireland, Camden Fort, and the NSC. The Big Dish, NSC’s 32m antenna at Elfordstown Earthstation, featured in the film as the base for a platoon of Stormtroopers under attack. Filming for the film took place on location at the NSC in 2018.

Stormtroopers premiered in March at Mitchelstown Caves and recently showed at Dublin Comic Con. The film is set to open the open the May 4th Sci-Fi Film Festival in Portmagee at 7pm on May 4th, where it has received the following nominations:
